It's always fun to check out what the students from SCAD are up to. These bud vases, by Corey Green are modern, eye catching and a bit ingenious....

If you look closely, you'll see that the actual vase section is an ordinary latex balloon. As the balloon starts to shrink, you'll know that it's time to add more water. So the balloon serves a functional purpose as well as an aesthetic one- all you need to do is change the color of the balloon for a whole new look.

In the fall of 2010, Corey was part of a SCAD design challenge that asked students to design products that emobodies the thought, "Happy homes make happy people." He won the challenge after a weeklong online vote and traveled to NY to showcase his vases at the International Gift Fair. His prototye is now available for sale. An impressive feat for a guy who just turned 21.

If you get a chance this weekend, peruse all the items offered at SCAD's Working Class Studio, based in Savannah, Georgia. And happy Friday...
