Hitsman USA

I'm in love with this tie. Next to a white shirt, who doesn't just fall in lust? I imagine the guy who wears this gets overloaded with compliments. A tie can do so much more than just be a tie. If it's well designed and well crafted, it can also serve as a huge confidence builder.

I first saw the incredible work of Michael Hitsman at Oakleaf and Acorn in Braselton, Georgia. His hand crafted Hitsman ties are beautifully made with fabrics and designs that automatically send out the vibe of a well dressed man. Based in Oklahoma, Michael has a keen eye for classic design. But then again, it's in his genes. Both Michael's grandfather and great grandfather were tailors in Kansas and his dad, a haberdasher.

Michael's newly released fall and winter collection is really a standout. As Michael explains, "This fall I have some very soft flannels, corduroy and chambray along with a variety of wool styles. This fall is also my first collection to feature silk styles."

Although Michael designs all his ties in his home state of Oklahoma, the ties are hand crafted up north in New York. It's important that he makes the ties in the US so he can carefully oversee all aspects of their production. Along with his brother Joel, who has a great eye for fashion, Michael spent time in New York finalizing the designs and picking the all important fabrics.

Classic bowties are also an integral part of his collection. I love this fall's Olive corduroy bowtie, found here.

Growing up in Mississippi, Michael knows the Southern gentleman well. Trendy is not what you'll find in his collections. What you will find, however, are classic, timeless ties that can be passed on, generation to generation.

I absolutely love a textured tie and this flannel plaid all American red, white and blue is such a stunner. And who doesn't love the basic blue?..especially this color blue made of wool. As Michael explains, "In the colder months, I really lean towards wool ties. They add texture and can be dressed up or down."

By caring deeply about the look and feel of a tie, Michael helps any man feel dashing and self assured. As Michael explains, "The patterns of the new Hitsman Fall and Winter ties will help all gentlemen keep a classic yet stylish look, all the while feeling comfortable in even the most formal occasions. My goal is that Hitsman ties give a younger generation a respectable, sharp new style while also bringing new life and modern charm to the seasoned gent." I think he's pulled it off beautifully...
