Something pretty for your flowers...

Receiving pretty flowers is one thing, but placing them in the perfect complementary vase is quite another. I'm loving the possibilities of these delightfully crafted vessels by Kristin Malaer of Austin, Texas. The idea came to her after her husband had brought home flowers for their 10th Anniversary and she needed something more than a nondescript vase. Although it took some time and effort, she ultimately found the solution. Using stucco and a process of sanding, painting and sealing, Kristin now has a pretty vase for every occasion.

Kristin relishes the process, explaining, "I love working with stucco because there are so many possibilities." I like how her vases can work with a variety of decor. She is a friend to color and her shop has a ton of great options to choose from. I'm privy to the horizontal stripes myself...

Living in Austin, Kristin is inspired by the "color combinations found in flowers, trees, the sky and water." Art is essential to her life and well being. As she explains, "It is my peace and it's fulfilling. There is something to be said about creating something that is unique to the world." I can't think of a greater accomplishment. Thanks for sharing a little of your joy with the rest of us Kristin!
