The charm of Serenbe

One could blog about the environmentally conscious and uber stylish community of Serenbe every day of the year as there is so much to admire about this extraordinary place, just 30 miles southwest of downtown Atlanta. I first visited Serenbe for a story I produced for TBS a few years ago and have gone back to visit whenever possible. (you may remember Lisa and Cindy's Southern porch blog post) Above is part of the Inn at Serenbe which is an incredible place to stay if you're looking for a little southern charm and a break from city life...

The Inn's pool house is simple and rustic with some fun touches, such as the wooden chicken art piece and the colorful compass painted atop the ceiling.

The wide and deep porch swing makes a nap or book time pure bliss...

I love the check-in house with the masculine black paint and the pop of red from the old time chairs and Coca Cola sign. And you can't go wrong with industrial pendant lights...

I'm a fan of the modern barn door look as it sets the tone of a space and makes me think the place is hip before I even peek inside. Serenbe is all about timeless cool with a heaping dose of southern soul to match. If you live in or near Atlanta, it's most certainly worth a trip...or two...or three...
